It is a dream to many, which has become reality for others. Solar World GT is the slightly crazy dream of a team of thirty German students who are presently driving around the world in a solar-powered car. This prototype was designed in partnership between the Bochum University of Applied Sciences and Solar World. The car started its trip around the world in October 2011 and has already crossed Australia (its country of departure) and New Zealand. It still needs to travel across the United States, Europe and Asia before returning to Darwin, its starting point, in December 2012.
